Paint chips. A new mural is coming. But this crowd is blissfully unaware. Allston, MA — Since 1995, the Boston Main Streets fund has been a primary force behind funding the many murals of Allston Village. Within the next few years, some of the oldest murals (such as the one above by Gregg Bernstein) will be replaced. Gregg Bernstein started his street art career as a spray-paint artist, running from the Boston Police. Today he has painted over 50 murals in Boston, Allston and other Massachusetts communities. In recent years, a new type of mural has been popping up along Harvard Ave in Allston: the commercial mural. Hopefully, Bernstein's mural will not be replaced by a business or corporate commissioned mural. If Bernstein himself doesn't re-paint the wall, maybe a new street artist can get the chance. See a video of Gregg Bernstein in action HERE.
