This poor Danish shark met his end while bicycling around Copenhagen without a helmet. For lunch today, I ventured to Torvehallerne market.
I DID have fish for lunch. It was NOT the shark, octopus, or the Norwegian Crab. In the morning was orientation for my core DIS class, "Sustainability in Europe." There are many opportunities outside the classroom for involvement with the Sustainability program during my time in Copenhagen. For example:
Conveniently, my time in the DIS Sustainability in Europe program overlaps with Copenhagen's year as the European Green Capital. Celebrations for that honor began tonight. 30,000 candles spelled out quotes related to sustainability and climate change. I was one of several Sustainability in Europe students helping to light these candles. Yet, it was a futile exercise. Within a few moments, the wind blew out each candle.
